Sarawak And Marubeni Corporation Sign MoU For Sustainable Aviation Fuel Project
KUCHING, 15 May - Premier Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg witnessing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between InvestSarawak and Marubeni Corporation at State Legislative Assembly (DUNS).
The MoU outlines a collaborative effort to conduct a joint pre-feasibility study (Pre-FS) aimed at establishing a commercial-scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) value chain in Sarawak.
This initiative will explore the viability of producing SAF using biomass feedstock, and assess potential technology pathways for SAF production within the region. The ultimate goal is to confirm the feasibility of this venture and establish a commercial-scale SAF production system for either local consumption or export by 2030.
